TEHRAN -- Iranian scholar Mohammad Ziar has translated a number of children’s stories by Ahmadreza Ahmadi from Persian into French.

The collection includes six stories which have been chosen by Ahmadi himself but it has not been ascertained whether the book will be published in Iran or in France, Ziar told ISNA.
He went on to say that he would publish “Le Pont” literary magazine in France for the first time in the near future, which concerns itself with comparative literature as well as cultural studies.
Ziar and the French scholar Nicole Barrière are compiling a poetry anthology of Iranian poets that will contain works by 60 poets including Dariush Shayegan, Yadollah Royaii and Patrick Navaii.
Ahmadi’s “Thousand Stairs to the Sea” was translated into French by Arash Judaki and recently was released by L'Harmattan Publications in Paris.
Born in 1940 in Kerman, Ahmadreza Ahmadi is an Iranian poet and screenwriter. The history of modern Persian poetry refers to him as the founder of New Wave Poetry in Iran.
The Children’s Book Council of Iran nominated Ahmadreza Ahmadi for the 2010 Hans Christian Andersen Award.
